You'll have to manually switch between the two modes, which isn't that bad, except that mopping pads don't get washed or dried between uses. This could lead to mildew and mold.
On the positive side, the X1 Omni is a beautiful-looking robot, thanks to the design team at Jacob Jensen (of Bang & Olufsen fame) who dreamed up its sleek, modern-looking base and mopping pad. It's a big change from the utilitarian all-black bases that are used by rivals like Roborock and iRobot and a pleasing view in a market that is dominated by clunky, boxy units.
